1986.5 Starting Problem
I have a 1986.5 Toyota Supra and when i first bought the car it hesatated starting it would just click... so i ran a bypass to shut of the accs and that worked for a little while.. then that stopped working so i would have to jump the car or push it and pop the clutch now the car wont start at all... it dosent click anymore we thought it was the starter but the starter works some of the time... but i think the alarm stops the car from starting because i have no way to shut if off... i was getting ready to change out the starter when i noticed a wire that was spliced into the soloniod wire just wraped around the wire and electric taped so i dissconnected it the car ran and started for 4 days and now the car dosent start or click over on the passenger side anymore i have tryed everything i use to it just dosent work plz someone help me!!!!
In the middle of disconnecting the alarm |

i have the same (intermittent) problem on my 89, sometimes it just 'clicks' and wont start. Leave it to sit a while and then it will start no trouble...its pretty random...
I also checked starter, disabled alarm (thought maybe it was immobiliser playin up) gotta check solanoid - real strange!! |

Starter relay under the passenger side kick panel may be bad. Get it checked out.

check for the basics...make sure the battery cables are clean and tight and that the cables are also tight at the starter solenoid. also test your battery, it may have 12 volts but it may have very low amps....and amps is what it takes to start your car.

well i replaced the relay that says starter relay that didnt work then i replace one of the other ones that cost me like 50 bucks and the car still wont start... we hooked a wire up to were the soloniod wire goes and held it to the battery to see if the car would start sure enof the car started... when i first bought the car my ignition stopped working and it was replaced so we think maybe that isnt working right so im trying to find out if the 85 mk2 ignition will fit on my 86 mk3... the other relay on the passenger side is 132 bucks to replace its a fuel relay and that works cause we can push the car to start it lol
