I'm 36 on my 1st Supra. I used to think I wanted a MkIV but now that I have driven my Targa for 6 months I can't even imagine having a non-Targa car. A friend had a new non-targa 86.5 when I was in high school (his dad was pretty well off) and I have wanted one ever since. I'm just glad I finally got one. Fortunately, I make enough now that I can afford to replace every part in it if needed to keep it on the road. I honestly cannot think of another car I would rather be driving and intend to drive this one until it is undrivable.

potential mk3 driver here, first post on this board.
i'm 29 now, but i've idolized the *A70 since i was in high school (graduated in '96). when i was a senior there was one of the "white option" turbo supras for sale near me and i pleaded unsuccessfully with my father to get that as my first car. since i was on his insurance, he nixed it and i wound up in an '84 celica gt instead. not fast by anyone's definition, but it was still fun. especially in the wet. had an '02 WRX as my last car, got rid of it before i went into army training for 9 months, now i'm looking for something not involving payments and with what i've got to play with, i can pay cash for a decent mk3 and still have money to mess with it. the car i'm looking at is an '89 non-turbo sport (targa, tems, LSD, etc). given that i've loved the 2 240sx's (s14 and then s13 coupe) and the e30 bmw 325is i drove over the past 5 years, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna love supra ownership (once i pull 200 to 300 pounds of unnecessary weight outa the car, anyway). nice to meet you all. looking forward to learning more about these cars. (and no, "dk" does not stand for "drift king", i was using it as a musician's handle back in 2001 before that godawful movie ever came out. it referred to the "decay" effect on my sampler.) |

54 and loving it
We're 54. We bought the 1990 when we were 37.
As bikers, skiiers and other speed freak hobbies, we love the thrill our car gives us on the open road with the turbo howling. 190 kph was the fastest she'd let me take her - lucky thing too, a cop was turning onto the hwy about a mile up the road. I hit the brakes, downshifted, put on the R signal and turned into where he was turning out. He either gave us a break or was none the wiser. Bought my 1988 in Nov. 1987. I was 29 at the time.
Just turned 70k miles a few months back. Stock until about 1 year ago. Now slowly adding mods for road racing but keeping as much original and look as possible. Tein flex, turbo upgrade, intake and exhaust, boost controller, fuel cut defencer, 550cc injectors, TOYO RA1's...maybe a few other things? Still want more speed, just need more time and money. |

23, I bought my first supra when I was 21. I had a 1987 Toyota Supra N/A. Now I just bought this month a 1988 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa with TEMS.
This new supra is awesome but you can never replace that feeling of driving your first supra for the first time.
