just turned 21 in july. first supra. lovin drivin it everywhere.
..still got a lot of work ahead of me tho. need driver rear side window + moldings rear window moldings windshield - both wipers antilock light is on - still havent figured out why... check engine light is on - did diag - code 52 coolant is coming out of the over-flow spew.. so from what i read on the forums im guessing a BHG needs new rims and tires. [ current rims are bent up - front rims are bent up i know the rear driverside rim is grinded all over the edge - not sure if i should keep them or replace them - what you guys think? ] as far as the tires. the tires are in pretty good condition except for the rear passengerside is going bald.. stock spoiler on passenger side the fiberglass thats supposed to be attatched to the trunk is broken figure out why the rear wiper isnt working - replace the rear-wiper figure out why the rear window washer spray isnt going i think i have a power steering leak so far for now i that i know needs to be worked on.. |

Best would be a full top-end (at least) rebuild to include a metal head gasket and ARP bolts torqued to the ARP values. If you rebuild the top replace all belts and hoses while you're at it. When the head is off, REPLACE THE EGR GASKET AFTER GRINDING BOTH SURFACES TRUE. So start with the engine and finish with paint, wheels and tires. If money and time ARE a concern (like with most of us) I would figure out the overheating first. If you're not sure, take it to a mechanic. DON'T suggest BHG to him because he will just agree for the money. It may be radiator, heater plug, or a few other things. Once you get the overheating under control you can tinker with whatever you like in whatever order. I always say fix mechanical first, cosmetic last. BUT...tires are important and you can get a pretty nice set of wheels and tires from Tire Rack online for a good price...just to get you by until you're ready for the track. Don't go bigger than 17" until you know what you're doing. |

Kuanos, great looking Supra. Looks VERY clean. Got any interior/engine bay pics? Would like to see the rest of that car

Sure, Wilson. I'll post a few more. I've only had it a few days and already have a couple issues. Got some good experience? Let me now if you're up for some helpful troubleshooting. Thanks.

Dang, that is nice... Hopefully I'll get mine that clean some day...
Troubleshooting is what the forum's for, so when you got the time start a new thread with the problem so we can help.

now i understand
no wonder i can't keep up to you folks with your 87's. i'm 63 and retired and i just bought my supra last week. it has 60,000 original miles, carfax, and dealers maintenance. for $4200 i thought it was a good price. body perfect, paint beautiful and everything works.
