Default 90 NA Auto Supra.. Help Please!

Hello,
Just but me a Supra MK3 with 126K miles runs good but is showing signs of BHG not sure though. Radiator coolant bubbles when I give her gas no smoke coming out of tail pipe. The temp needle fluctuates from med to high and does seem to lose coolant. Also I can hear a ticking noise from the top of the head sounds kinda like a diesel doesnt seem to bother it along the lines of power but it is annoying. Oh..one other thing the ac and heater don't seem to work read somewhere that it might be the VSV?
Can anyone shed some light on my questions any advise would be greatly appreciated. I plan on keeping her stock, so if it is a bhg... What gasket would work great for the least amount of $? I plan on getting ARP bolts if I have to do the job. Where might I be able to get the parts online for a decent price?
I'm such a newb.
Thanks everyone!!

Whens the last time the car had an oil change? Drain the oil and see if it's milky or if it's bubbly coming out. If it's not, then do a compression test. Anything under 120 then you'll need a rebuild regardless of a BHG or not. If it is a BHG get a stock toyota gasket. Unless your going for high boost, in which you'll need to take the whole engine out of the car, send the block and head to a machine shop so they can machine them and lap the block.

If it's not a BHG and your compression is fine, then you may be losing coolant from a leaking hose, the hose at the back of the engine looooves to leak and is a biotch to get to. And if the needle is fluctuating, check the connection on the temp housing. It may be loose.

Default Bhg?

DCRU,
Thanks for the reply I will drain the oil to see if I see anything abnormal.
Do you have any idea what could be causing the ticking?
Ishino brand is stock for gaskets right?

"Do you have any idea what could be causing the ticking?"

Your valve clearances need to be adjusted. There are shims inbetween the cam lobes and valve lifters which need to be at a specific size. It's not a hard job, just very time consuming and there is alot of math involved. Plus you need special tools to remove and install the shims. Not a job for an amateur.

Thanks Hacks! Looked at the manual and I know what you mean lots of tables to look up and some simple math iterations. Very cumbersome. What about stock head gaskets? Where can I buy them and not spend and arm and a leg? I found the ARP bolts for $100.

Thanks!
