The turbo 7ms transmission will bolt up with a 1jz bellhousing. The 1jz will fit in the 89+ mounts but you will need custom mounts for a pre-89 supra. BICPerformance.com has some custom mounts for pre-89 supras.

Or you can do like I did and swap the JDM crossmember into it from a clip that works too. Its a pain but all the parts on the JDM crossmember like the upper and lower A arms and stuff are newer. Or a crossmsmber froma 89 plus will fit just kind of hard to find in good shape.

I just got done doing mine if you get a clip it makes the whole thing easier. Because then you get all of the sensors and stuff under the hood you can replace with new stuff. If you dont wanna go that route and you can find a motor, tranny, ecu, and uncut wireing harness then you will need the adapters from BIC performance for the engine mounts. If your motor doesnt come with the intake pipe then you can use the one you have just have to take the guts out of the air flow meter or buy a HKS cold air for it. A R154 driveshaft is a must because the W58 is way off from fitting. Your power steering lines will have to be modified but it isnt really expensive to get done. If you want your A/C to work then you will have to have A/C lines made to fit properly, but its a hot rod why have A/C. Go to www.1jz-gte.us and get all of the wireing diagrams you will need to swap the dash and underhood plugs. Your radiator will work but the 1JZGTE uses a hydrolic fan so you will have to get that or change the water pump out for a 2JZGTE water pump and get a motor driven fan or just get a electric fan with that water pump. Oh and a lot of wire if you are planning on extending the harness but you can also take KWnates advice and drill a hole under the speedo cable on the firewall and run it behind the heater core. the twins fit close but they do fit. the intercooler as far as I know has to be one for a 1JZGTE because of the way it fits the pipes and stuff. mounts you can use your square ones if you get the adapters.

Like I said I paid 1900 for my clip and not much more out of pocket to get everything done. I am finding a correct R154 driveshaft because my one that was done at a drivshaft shop broke but other than that I havent had to spend much more. I would say when you got all of that stuff together the only thing it would take you is time because you shouldnt have a problem with all of the sensors if they dont take them off because the 1JZ has some different ones it uses. I would just go through your check list like all the parts you can come about like engine, tranny, wireing harness, mounts, and stuff like that and see if anything is missing. You will need to get a 2JZ water pump and possibly a electric fan though because like I said the 1JZ uses a hydro fan and if they dont include it then you are out of luck. With the power steering lines I got mine done for like 20 bucks that was cutting and adding a ferral fitting to it then I tapped out my steering housing and put a nipple in it then they connected up perfect. Your front A/C hose will work the top one but the bottom cross over you will have to get made and I am not sure how much that will cost. Then stuff like the wire to extend the harness could cost you like 60 to 80 bucks, there is like 170 wires in there to be extended 3 feet. What I am getting at is prolly not much more than you are already looking at the adapters cost like 125 or sumthin. Just make a list because the little things will kill you.

I have a 90 MKIII front clip in good condition, and I'll probably never get around to doing the 1JZ thing. It was rear ended real bad, but the front never took a hit. I am curious about the motor mounts though, because I took the engine out (still good, freshly rebuilt) and dropped it in my 87' and had no issues with mount changes. Iam still haggling with the insurance company but when that is over I will post it's availability.
