Default blown transmission?

what are the symptoms of a blow auto? right now i went for a drive and put the car in revererse and it wouldnt coast so i gassed it a little and it moved a litle then i put in drive and the same thing happened as i pulled out into a residential street the engine would rev up really high and the car would go any faster, i can describe it as when youre not fully engaging the clutch on a manual. then i gassed it really hard and the car would redline and go about 15 to 20 mph. is it blow or is it something else? btw the car would engage first gear kinda late after a complete stop ever since i got a code 12.

Check the fluid in it. Is it full? Smell burnt? Still reddish/pink?

It sounds to me to a text book case of a faulty transmission.
