Tein Flex Coilovers
Got my Tein coilovers today. I'm installing them tomarrow. Spring rate in the front is 671 lb/in and the rear is 336 lb/in. The ride height adjustment in the front is +.4" to -3.7" and the rear is -.4" to -2.7". The dampening adjustment has 16 settings. They didn't come with camber plates for the front so I don't know how I'm going to set the camber. I will update after I install with more pics, maybe I'll do a writeup.

A write-up would be great. I'm really interested in how they would ride as I was looking at picking up a set.

Ok 5 hours later and they are in. Still need to adjust the ride height because it is sitting LOW right now. I had to put the back tires on flat rocks just to get the jack out!!!
I'm way too lazy to make a writeup, plus, you need above average skill level mechanically to perform this job so doing a write up for the not-so-swift-wit-them-wrenches people would be pointless. You either know what you are doing or you don't. And can you say 3 foot snap-on breaker bar? I will tell you this, the passenger front is the hardest one to do because of the washer fluid reservoir. The backs are the easiest thing in the world. Had both of the rears done in an hour by myself in the dark. I will post pics of how it looks tomarrow. At this height I can pull into driveways without ripping my 3" downpipe or exhaust off. I do want it lower in the front. |

I need all the ground clearance I can get dude. I have a turbo back 3" exhaust, and I don't know if you've ever seen that on a supra before but it is like literally 1.5" from the road at all times right now. And I'm talking about the downpipe and test pipe being that low, the muffler is actually the highest part of my exhaust. I still have 2.5" to drop in the front and 1.5" in the back if I had the undercarrage clearance. Trust me, it is low as hell, getting out of the car is a totally different experience, like "whoa the ground is right there!".
I adjusted the backs perfect, but the fronts are being a bitch. When I lower one side the other side lowers by about 10% of the distance the side I actually lowered. Its a confusing mess, my buddy warned me of the hassles with a totally adjustable race suspension, but I don't care its fun taking my wheels off about 30 times each. And as far as how they ride, well that depends on which setting of the 16 settings you select for the stiffness. I have it on the 8th click right in the middle on all of them and it is rough as hell but tight, can't even push the car down by hand. Last edited by IHateHacks; 07-21-2007 at 05:14 PM. |

I'd suggest waiting a few days before you lower it any more. The springs in coil overs settle less than conventional springs, but they do still settle a bit. Then when you're trying to figure out how much you need to adjust a specific side, have someone who weighs about as much as you do sit in the driver's seat.
Looks good! |

why is you dp and test pipe so low? is it a custom job or brand of exhaust? anyways didnt mean any harm
