Tuner Question
For some reason i think im going the wrong direction with my supra. So i figured id see what all of you had to say on this. What would you recomend the first 10 upgrades on a supra be in order from the first to the 10th thing. on a somewhat stock 7mgte turbo.

1. Make sure the engine is working properly
2. Intake 3. Exhaust 4. Fuel 5. Suspension 6. Brakes 7. Better/Wider Wheels/Tires 8. Bigger Turbo 9. Bigger Intercooler 10. Aluminum or Stainless Steel Intercooler Piping 11. Standalone 8-11 should be all at the same time. And for number 1, do a compression test. If any of them are under 120 psi or more than 15 psi apart, it's time for a rebuild. I left them vague purposely because everyone has different goals for their car. |

Well with my car i wanna keep it a sleeper. however i am gonna have it lowered about 2in. i am also shaving the body. getting rid of the door handles as well as the molding indent that goes around the car. my interior which i am working on right now is gonna be black and a dark red. the interior will have a few more gauges, boost controller, turbo timer. things i need basically. and then i want it to be a fast street car not nessessarily a drag car but i perfer driving on the highways racing from one city to another. so i need it to be good on high end pickup as well as top end speed. so basically i want it nice a fast. sleeper that looks pleasing to the eye but not to much that says "hey i might or might not be fast" if that makes any sence.
And quick question. what is and how do you preform a pressure test? |

the supra has more top end power so you might be fine with that..
but if your going to try and race from one city to another your aerodynamica is going to have to be good too.. i know what your saying mines is going to be sleeper status too..but im sure the new intercooler will show some type of sign dat your either built or semi built as for pressure test if u mean compression test...all you gotta do is unplug your EFI fuse and your igniter so you dont catch spark...but its better if your car is warmed up...then just go down the line and do your compression test screw it on crank till you get a steady reading then repeat for the other five Quote:

No, you unplug the EFI fuse so you don't spray fuel in the cylinder while you test the cylinder compression. Liquids don't compress.
I agree, make sure the head gasket its good, then perform all maintainance. Timing belt, tensioner, fuel filter blah blah blah. Then get a turbo back 3" exhaust, and coilovers. Get the best your money can buy for a supra, don't cheap out. |

i think a compression test just makes sure all your cylinder is working..im not sure though
if your a turbo car check the TSRM itll show you how to do da compression test... first you unplug your EFI like ihatehack said..buh i always unplug the coil pack just in case.... then you just take your compression tool and screw it on each spark plug one by one then with about five cranks of the motor.(meaning try & turn on the engine) until you get a steady reading on your compression gauge den repeat process for the other 5 cylinder
