Default going to the track

so im heading to the track on friday to see what my supra runs. ive never done this before so i was wondering if i could get some tips. like optimum launch rpm, shift rpm, anything to help me get my lowest time? im driving a 86.5 n/a, pretty much stock, aside from a cold sir intake. any advice or suggestions would be awesome.

my 88 n/a has pretty much the same mods as you do, i launch the car a 4000 rpms since this is the most i got cuz the tires jus spins out if i go any higher it would really do me any better, and i shift in between 4000-5000 rpms, cuz thats when i feel the most out of my engine, but giv your car a few runs, and feel for it yourself

if you come up with better results share em,

never timed my car tho, so any 1/4 mile times would be helpful

5600 is the so called peak for power. But what 2nr said, whenever you start to feel the car lose a little power, shift.

I'm not much for racing, I'm the kinda guy who likes to show off, but when I do race, it's usually to redline, but...I race a civic so there's a big difference. They can handle the revs...don't know a whole lot about Supras.

I've street raced a buddy's RX-7 and it would red-line easy. But If you say a supra can't do it...who am I to argue...I dun really know a whole lot about them. Just know that usually they can beat my Civic, cause it's N/A without supercharger or Turbo on it...just Borla Exaust...
