Hi all, I'm very glad to have found a nice active forum on Supras!
Anyway, I have an '81 Supra auto and the 4M-E is siezed SOLID. No clunking back and forth, like if it were stuck camshaft or stuck pistons. It must be the crank that is stuck. I have put a lot of force on the crank snout bolt with a long breaker bar, and succeeded in loosening the bolt, but NO movement whatsoever. And the oil pan is badly crunched in, like someone jumped onto a rock or something. So my thoughts are that maybe the oil pan is contacting the crank lobes, preventing any movement. Could that be possible? I'm almost ready to start tearing out the steering stuff to get the oil pan off, but I need some ramps first. Or maybe I'll just set it up on tires. I only paid $400 for this car, and I absolutely love it. I can't wait for the day I get to start her, and drive her! |
