redneck ricer Stock Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: vancouver canada Posts: 9	type R vs. non type R Im lookin to buy a supra, i found a shop with about 4 of them all in the great condition but what im interested in is the 90-91 twin turbo. there is a 1990 2.5 1JZ GTE twin turbo and a 1990 2.5 1JZ GTE twin turbo R. i looked at the spec sheets on this site and i couldnt find any difference in weight, torque,HP anything obvious...anyone know what this R stands for. both are from japan which is obvious cause both are 2.5 L.
