Default need opinion on modifications

im getting ready to start modifying my supra pretty soon, i want to make it a 10 second street car, and i was in need of some opinions. im gonna go with the lexus afm, what are the best injectors? what is the best type of electronic fuel computer? should i switch my greddy bov to hks? whats the best type of intercooler, and is the hard pipe necessary? if so, should i move the alternator and do the dual pipes up both sides of the engine? what should i do as far as air intake goes? how much does one of those cans on the end of my exhaust help, and are they worth it?

any help is greatly appreciated thanks,
adam

Well, I'm up late with nothing to do so I might as well help you out a bit.
The Lexus AFM won't be able to hold that kind of power. Most people go with the MAFT Pro (google it). The best injectors, in my opinion, are RC Injectors. Get ones that flow enough to get to your goal. Along with an upgraded fuel pump and a fuel pressure regulator. Get a standalone ECU that can control the fuel and get a good tune to follow. Get a BOV that can hold the amount of boost you are going to run the car at. The biggest intercooler that can fit on the front of our cars without cutting the frame rails is a 24x12x4. The intercooler hardpipes are absolutely necessary. The "dual pipes" that you mention is the pipe going to the turbo and the intake manifold. The intake manifold is custom made by a few people and are not cheap. Most people go with a K&N air filter but I've seen in a test that the Apex-i dry filter flows better. Those can things on the end of an exhaust do nothing more than make more sound. Get a turbo back 3" exhaust pipe.

Now that I've given you the basics do a little more research about the set-up you are going to run. I've put a few months of research into the set-up I plan to run. Research heavily into the head gasket problem and keep the engine full of oil.

And of course a little disclaimer...

A 10 second car is not easy to control. You probably won't have traction without racing slicks. This isn't Fast and the Furious. You can get seriously hurt if you don't know how to control the car.

build the motor first then come back
and ask for the bolt-on stuff
im assuming u have an mk3 since ur trying to use a lexus maf

so, a 10 second 7mgte street car on an mk3 chassis huh?
build the motor, oversized pistons
replace the valvetrain, ovesized valve , dual springs, lifters, retainers
new cams, adjustable cam gears, rods, bearings,
try to get the post89 crankshaft
metal head gasket (of course)

for ur bolt-ons
u need a .70 trim turbo at least
so maybe a garrett gt35r? or maybe as big as a gt45r
insist on a ball bearing turbo
and the hardpipes are a necesity
since your gonna need to boost around 29psi maybe more
use vibrant hose clamps, and vibrant t-clamps
a intercooler at least 33x12x4 with 3" outlet pipes
a front facing intake manifold (looks better than the stock one)
a 50mm tial wastegate
boost controller (electric or manual) thats up to u
bov, use tial (my advice)
upgrade your fuel rail
use -8 steel braided lines for feed and -10 for return
run all steel braided line to the back dont use the stock ones
new fuel pressure regulator
700cc - 1000cc injectors
probly a 1000lph fuel pump maybe more

and for your electronics,
i hope you didnt think you were gonna get away
by using a piggy back unit with a 10 second car
aem engine management system bro,
a lot of shops use it and very familiar on tuning it

a set of drag radials,
a set of lightweight rims
bigger break since u r driving, most likely racing a 10-second car on the streets, so more stopping power will be very helpful
a lot of pple overlook this part of modding a car

u need to get rid of a lot of weight
so stock seats, front and back have to go
use lightweight bucket seats if your in a budget
or seats like the sparco milano
if you want sumthing adjustable

so if i missed anything or got sumthing wrong, pls address it nicely

He has to get into the weight reduction
Since a 3600lbs car isn't going anywhere close to 10 secs on the streets

I hope ur seriously looking to get a rollbar
And idk how ur gonna find out how fast ur car goes without going to the track,
And u will need the bar there

Hopefully they have loose rules at the track close to you, cuz they can tell if ur packing a lot of hps and they won't let you run ur car without a rollbar, helmet, and a drag racing license, since you are going as fast as 10 seconds

With a MAFT Pro? Lol. While you should go MAFT Pro it won't actually gain you any horsepower without tuning anything.
