As far as headgaskets i would go with the HKS...
As far as headgaskets i would go with the HKS 1.2m. You will also need to have the head milled to garantee that it is square and will seal properly..By doing so you will also raise compression...

I would just stick with the 3" piping.. Any...
I would just stick with the 3" piping.. Any bigger and you will have problems sourcing mufflers without having to reduce it into it.. Im running 3" on my MKII N/A and it is loud as hell.. Plus i dont...

Most the things you will find wrong with most...
Most the things you will find wrong with most MKII's is the clutch,brakes,fuel filter,headgasket and of coarse RUST..Lots of rust.. You will be pretty hard pressed to find a MKII under 100k miles.....
